Hardware, Software and Internet Requirements
Union Community Bank Consumer eBanking can be accessed from any computer with Internet access and a secure Web browser such as Microsoft® Internet Explorer or Netscape® Navigator™. If your computer operates with Microsoft Windows® 95 or higher, or Apple Macintosh System 7.0 or higher, you probably have all the hardware you need.
To maintain the highest level of security, Union Community Bank Consumer eBanking requires that your browser support 128-bit, SSL security. 128-bit SSL is the latest, most sophisticated method available to secure your data and ensure your privacy as you communicate with the bank via the Internet.
Finally, you need access to the Internet. For most people, this is accomplished through the use of a modem and an Internet access account from an Internet Service Provider (ISP). However, if you have access to the Internet at work or school, you probably have a direct connection in place.
A number of security procedures and technologies are at work to ensure a secure environment for you to bank online. These include:
- Day-to-day security steps and procedures the bank follows to protect all of our customers
- State-of-the-art online banking software provided by a technology leader in the field
- Regulatory protection – for example, the same law that protects millions of consumers while using credit cards online also applies to online banking
- Security tools built into the Internet, including firewalls and encryption
Additionally, in order to protect you and your accounts, we have established a “multiple authentication” strategy to correctly identify our eBanking customers. This means that we have enhanced our online procedures to positively identify you before allowing any online access to your accounts. In order to accomplish this, however, we recommend that you either setup your browser to allow cookies or that you install the flash add-in for your browser.
