Fourth Annual Historic Marietta Bike Race

Marietta is hosting its fourth annual Historic Marietta Bike race on Saturday, July 8th, 2017. The races begin at 10:45 AM and concludes at 4:00 PM.

The Marietta Bike Race has history dating back from 2000 – 2005 including the Pennsylvania State Championships in 2002. In 2014, the race was brought back into Marietta to bring spectators and families to enjoy its small town and explore the popular rail trail. It draws over 300 professional cyclists and hundreds of spectators to race a one-mile circuit on the streets of Marietta. There will be complimentary safety checks and helmet checks by local bike shops.

The day also includes a fireman’s race, a children’s race, family-fun activities, food, music, entertainment; even a bounce house in front of the Susquehanna Waldorf School! Families are encouraged to come explore the town, the culture, and the rail trail. All proceeds from the race benefit the Marietta Community Park Systems. Come out and race, cheer, or enjoy all of the activities going on in Historic Downtown Marietta!

Volunteers Needed

They are also looking for volunteers! Volunteers will help distribute flyers to residents, post No Parking signs, set up gates along the race route before the races begin, and tear down gates along the race route once the races have concluded. Anyone who volunteers to help set up the race will ride in the pace car during races, receive a t-shirt, beverages, and a free lunch.
