Free Concert Series at Long’s Park
Every Sunday evening from the beginning of June through the end of August, Long’s Park hosts an outdoor concert that’s completely FREE to the public! Bring a blanket or lawn chair, pack some snacks, and enjoy an evening of music.
Lunch at Central Market
Lancaster Central Market is one of the oldest indoor farmers markets in the country. Located right in the heart of Lancaster city, the market features all the locally-grown produce you’d expect from a farmers market. But it also includes a wide variety of food stands that offer prepared foods in a range of styles—ranging from traditional Pennsylvania Dutch to Greek and Middle Eastern.
Explore the flavors of Lancaster by trying freshly baked bread, local jams, artisanal cheeses, and all the veggies you can handle. You and your partner can each choose whatever foods you’d like to try and eat it outside on a bench while watching the world go by. A great date, indeed.
Walk Around Vintage Shops
If you’re into antiques or handmade items, Lancaster city is perfect for you. While there are many vintage shops scattered throughout the city, you’ll find a good number of them on Queen Street. Browsing is free and you can find unique items that are often less expensive than buying new products.
Kitchen Kettle Village
Just a short drive from the city, Kitchen Kettle Village is a grouping of unique shops that focus on locally made foods and crafts. Try free samples of more than 90 varieties of jellies and jams!
Ice Cream at Oregon Dairy
Even though Oregon Dairy is primarily a grocery store, they’re known for their dairy products (including ice cream!) that are made with milk from their very own cows! Enjoy views of expansive farmland while tasting some of the best local ice cream around. The perfect date for a summer evening.
